Mino-Saver operation instructions.

Mino-Saver agitators are designed for ease of operation and long life.  Agitation breaks up millions of bubbles under the water, facilitating oxygen transfer as well as driving off harmful gasses from the water.  The agitation paddle (within the basket) needs to be submerged in tank or pond water up to the red painted line for proper operation.  Difficulty in maintaining exact control is understandable, but the unit should not be operated with the water level above the red line (overload condition) or below the red line (under load condition) for any length of time.  Maximum motor life will be obtained when the unit is running at the proper depth, as well as maximum oxygenation for electricity consumed.

Unit should be hung near the center of the tank for proper operation.  Smaller tanks may benefit from locating the unit in a corner or toward one end to decrease excessive turbulence.  Agitators are not recommended for tanks under 100 gallons.

Do not defeat or remove the grounding plug!

Cooling of the electric motor is absolutely essential.  Be sure that the vents on top and bottom of the motor are kept clear.

Do not invert the unit when wet.  Doing so would allow water to seep into the lower motor bearing, decreasing the life of the bearing, and the entire unit.  Allow unit to completely dry before inverting for any reason.

12 volt Direct Current units must be rotating in the indicated direction for proper operation of the fan on the motor.  A spinner on top of the unit makes for easy checking.  If rotation is incorrect, reverse the battery leads to change direction.

Units may be operated in salt water.  However, expect corrosion of the metal parts to occur.  Care should always be taken to avoid splashing any water into the motor, but this is particularly true of salt water.

110 volt units have a one year factory warranty.  (Save your receipt and/or record of payment.)  12 volt units are not covered due to voltage compatibility, but defects in material and workmanship are.  Again, save your receipt.  Damage or deterioration due to salt water operation is not warranted.

Mino-Saver units are absolutely the best way to keep bait alive.  You will be pleased with your purchase of a Mino-Saver bait tank aerator.
